The home for Bassetto friends

Each season in our area offers a variety of activities, food and landscapes to enjoy. We highly recommend you consider visiting throughout the year as all the seasons are very distinct from the last. Here's a short photographic glimpse at the 4-seasons of Bassetto. Summer Summer can be hot and dry in Tuscany, but it's also the time of brilliant summer festivals like the famed Siena Palio (top right) and to visit the region's medieval centres like San Gimignano's bell towers (bottom left above) and to enjoy the brilliant sunflower harvests (bottom right above). Autumn Autumn is a gorgeous season in our region when the vines are ripe to bursting and ready to be harvested and then the leaves turn red, orange and other vibrant hues. It's also the hunting season (bottom left above) when you'll see groups of hunters taking to the fields to shoot pigeon, hare and pheasant. Festivals at this time celebrate the bounty of the fields including Certaldo's Boccaccesca festival with street entertainment and local food available in Certaldo Alto (bottom right above). Winter Winter can be cold and it does snow up to 2-3 times during the season but it's a perfect time to enjoy some of the food of the region including the winter olive harvest (top right) and it's also the time locals go out searching for mushrooms or truffles (bottom left above) or you can enjoy some of the fine pastries of the region (bottom right above). Spring Spring is a time of new life when the gardens and fields rejuvenate around our property. It's a great time to get out and enjoy the countryside before the summer heat sets in.
